Overview

The Scientific Affairs Secretariat is responsible for managing all academic operations in their various forms and structures. This includes curriculum development and quality assurance, student admission and registration, academic supervision, maintaining student performance records, and creating a supportive learning environment. It also handles the issuance of graduation certificates and the provision of comprehensive academic services.

The Secretariat oversees the implementation of academic policies across the specialized faculties of the university, including the coordination of faculty plans. Additionally, it supervises the academic staff, provides training for faculty members and technicians—who form a foundational pillar in the teaching and learning process.

Moreover, the Secretariat plays a vital role in linking El Daein University with its counterparts locally, regionally, and internationally through the development of partnerships and bilateral agreements, and by supervising their implementation.

  • Qualify and train academic staff to enhance their professional capacities.

  • Establish an effective database for preserving academic documents and records.

  • Foster scientific coordination with universities and institutions inside and outside Sudan.

Functions of the Scientific Affairs Secretariat

  • Maintain the quality of admitted students and facilitate their registration procedures.

  • Regulate, publish, and monitor the implementation of the university’s academic regulations.

  • Coordinate with the General Directorate of Admissions at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding nominated students.

  • Liaise with faculties, institutes, and centers on academic policies and procedures.

  • Supervise the training and qualification of academic staff and technicians.

  • Instill a strong sense of university spirit and proper student behavior on and off campus.

  • Preserve academic documents and student records.

  • Issue and authenticate academic certificates.

  • Supervise the appointment of qualified teaching assistants.

  • Prepare and organize the meetings of the University Senate and follow up on the implementation of its decisions.

  • Prepare and organize the work of the Academic Staff Promotion Committee.
