About - Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology

The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology was established in 2016 as one of the faculties of El Daein University. Its establishment was a sincere reflection of the Ministry of Higher Education’s interest in the field of computer science and information technology, in response to the major global boom in this domain. There is a growing need to focus on training and preparing qualified professionals in computer and IT fields who can meet the requirements of the nation’s ambitious development plans.

The faculty offers an honors bachelor’s degree in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology, after successfully completing the approved academic program. The program consists of 166 credit hours for the Computer Science department and 169 credit hours for the Information Technology department, distributed over four academic years (eight semesters). The faculty aspires to become a nucleus for a specialized university in computer fields, with plans to establish an Information Systems department in the near future.

Objectives

The Faculty works to achieve the following objectives:

  • Preparing specialists in computer science and information technology, qualified with theoretical foundations and practical methodologies, enabling them to effectively compete in the development of computing and information technologies.

  • Promoting scientific research in areas of specialization that have a direct impact on comprehensive community development and encouraging innovation.

  • Enhancing the role of the Faculty in finding solutions to problems related to the use of information technology faced by public and private sector institutions, in accordance with modern scientific and technological developments.

Academic Degree Programs (Diploma – Bachelor – Master – Doctorate):

Respect for intellectual property rights, security, and privacy in the use of computer technology.


General Administration of the Faculty:

The Faculty administration consists of the following:
Faculty Council – Dean – Deputy Dean – Registrar – Heads of Departments – Exams Officer – Academic Office.
The administration is committed to fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to it in accordance with the University of Al-Du’ain Law of 2016.
